Happy Birthday Gracie! (a little early...)

My daughters birthday is in 2 weeks, but our grandparents won't be in town, so we had a party today for her. I was lucky enough to have a few flowers left over from a wedding cake I did yesterday to make the perfect cake for the occasion. She loved it so much that she leaned over and took a big bit right out of the side. And then said "mmm cake!"

Take Flight!

I have the best helper in all the world. She does so much for me to make it possible to be a great mom and still make cakes. She wanted to do something special for a good friend of hers and so she asked if I would stand by while she made a cake for her. First solo flight! I think that she did a great job and I only helped a little. Once again, I must say, that there is elegance in simplicity. I really like the clean lines and the pop of red with the roses. PS... Costco has great flowers if you need something simple like this.

A blast from the past...

I was cleaning out some things in my life and I found my sisters old camera. And what would you know... there were pictures of a cake on her memory card. This is a cake that I did a while back and I had totally forgotten about it. But, I love it. I especially love the flowers.

And the winner is...

At each of the bridal shows this year, I gave away 2 special occasion cakes. I finally had someone collect on their prize. This cake was for a bridal shower. The wedding colors are a tangerine orange and an apple green. I tried to think of something fun and different. Popout flowers did the trick.
