Catching up...

This cake is a simple 2 tier that turned out very elegant.  Real flowers are my favorite addition to a cake.

Diaper Cakes are a fun alternative to a baby shower.

Keep it simple and fun with cupcakes for a kids birthday party.

Textured buttercream is very popular right now.

So is the Ombre effect in buttercream.

For the Minnie in all of us.

Thousands of edible pearls for a stunning look.

One of my favorite looks...shaved coconut.  Tasted great too.

Ivory, glitter and height = stunning

Bring color to the wedding on the cake.

Happy first birthday to my baby girl!

...and the cupcakes that went with her party.  Pink Giraffe themed.

Go BIG! or Go Home!

It is not very often that a 5 tier cake comes around! Quite the statement. And this one has a lot of personality to go with it. This could have been done in a million different combinations. Infact, we changed the order a few times before this one finally set in. Stipes, dots, swirls, words; it all works. It seems that bright colors are everyones choice these days. It is so great. Weddings are becoming quite the parties. As they should be! One other thing I want to remember about this cake... The bottom layer had mint filling. I asked the bride if she wanted it white or green. Then I thought what about lime green (because that was one of her colors). What a fun idea! If you have buttercream frosting as the filling you could color it any color. The inside of the cake would be just as colorful as the outside!

Think Vintage!

There are lots of ways to make big statements with your cake. Height is one, fun detail is another. Who says you have to do every layer the same? This bride was having an old fashioned wedding, so we tried to incorporate a vintage feeling to her cake. Another great tip is, if you find something you really love, find ways to carry it through out you entire wedding. For instance, this bride had a pasley detail on her invitations. So we carried it to her cake too. It tied it all together!

Traditionally Round

Whether three or five tiers, round is very beautiful and classic. Both of these cakes have Ivory colored fondant. Ribbon is a fun addition to any cake. I think it creates clean and elegant lines and there are endless possibilies! The cake to the left here has white royal icing decorations. Very beautiful look. This was made to look very French!
